The 100 Foot Drain Snake You Need Is Right Here

24th Dec 2019

The 100 foot drain snake you need is right here at Duracable. You just need to find it. Your drain snakes and all of your drain-clearing products and equipment need to meet certain standards of quality, and you’ll find them here on our site. Our products work just as hard as you do, and you can rely on the quality that we provide, whether it’s in a 100 foot drain snake, one of our drain machines or something as simple as the cable accessories we sell. So that’s off the table, now you just need to find the drain cable to prepare you to meet the worst.

Hollow Core VS Inner Core
First, determine the nature of the blockage you expect to experience as well as the setting, and you’ll know whether you need a hollow core or an inner core drain snake. Hollow-core drain snakes are pretty common for a lot of residential uses because they are lighter and more flexible than some inner core alternatives. Their added flexibility makes them ideal for navigating the tight turns and corners you’ll commonly face in thinner residential pipes.

Inner core cables are heavier and tend to be stiffer than otherwise comparable hollow-core cables. They typically contain a nylon core that allows them to maintain additional rigidity, especially when under stress. Inner core cables are often ideal for more obstinate blockages.

Choose The Right Diameter
Here at Duracable, we offer you the 100 foot drain snake you need in diameters of ¼”, 5/16”, ⅜” ½” ⅝” 11/16 and ¾” in hollow and inner core configurations. The type of blockage you expect to tackle along with the pipe it’s blocking will determine what you’ll need in the diameter of your drain snake.

If you’re expecting a blockage in a residential line running from a toilet or tub, a cable in ¼” or 5/16” should be able to tackle that job. Many showers have 2 to 3-inch drains, and a 5/16” or ⅜” drain snake paired with the right fittings should be sufficient to navigate those channels. Many of those blockages take the form of hair or soap scum, and we offer the accessories in addition to our drain snakes to help you clear these.

If you’re going to be clearing floor drains that are obstructed by a variety of debris, you’ll need a drain snake in the right diameter to be effective. Floor drains that start at 4 inches in diameter should require the use and strength of a drain snake of at least ½” in diameter. If your drain is 8 inches or larger, you’ll want to go with one of our ¾ inch drain snakes, which can handle many blockages in wider pipes.

When deciding on the diameter drain snake you’ll need for any given job, take into account if you will need the additional stiffness that a hollow core cable will afford you. In some residential settings, it might not be necessary, but if you’ll be clearing tough obstructions in wide drains like roots, it might be necessary.

Pair Them With the Accessories You Need
A 100 foot drain snake won’t do you too much good on its own. You’ll need a drain machine and the fittings to go with it to get through those obstructions. We here at Duracable will set you up with the drain snake you need as well as all the other equipment you need.

First off, our drain snakes are compatible with drain cleaning machines from many other manufacturers, so if you just need an additional drain snake, you might be good to go. If not, take a look at the drain machines we offer right here. We sell sink, sled, and upright machines, and all of our own drain machines are warrantied for two years, which is one of the most generous allotments in this industry.

If you’ve already got the drain machine you need, get the blades or other fittings you’ll need to clear obstructions. Our blades are heat treated and rust-proof as well as pre-sharpened so they can get right to work for you as soon as you get them. Depending on the nature of your lines and the obstructions, you may very well need a specific blade profile to be effective, so take a look at what we offer here at Duracable.
