Duracable Cone Chucks and Blade Holders

3rd Aug 2022

Cone chucks are valuable tools every drain care professional needs. Duracable offers multiple different cone chucks, offering more than most companies.

Mainline Chucks

Our four main cone chucks include the  C65C60M60 and MC60. These chucks are very valuable tools. The C65 and C60 are better suited for drain lines that are four to six inches in diameter. These should be used with lighter-weight blades and cable. On the other hand, the M60 and MC60 chucks were built for  main lines and heavier blades for big jobs.

Useful Tools

Chucks are useful tools that are crucial for pipe cleaning. First, they allow you to change the blade size without actually having to change a blade. This allows you to save a significant amount of time when you are doing repairs in the field. For instance, when you put  six-inch blades on a C65 cone chuck, you shorten the distance between the blades, turning them into five inch blades. If you’re in the field and you discover your blades are too large or too small for the line, all you must do is change the cone chuck. Also, many smaller blades will break off and you must replace it in the field. This is less likely to occur using Duracable chucks; they work as reinforcements and make the blades stronger and more durable.

Range of Options

Duracable chucks give you a wider range of blade options:  Single bladedouble blades, or triple blades. However, say you want to combine a  saw tooth blade with a knife blade or even a 3-inch blade with a 6-inch blade. You can do those things when using one of our chucks. Many technicians use chucks because of the ability to pre-assemble and lock in the chuck wedge. Once the blade has been tightened into place, the chuck assembly reinforces the blade to make it tougher. You can have 5, 10 or even 15 different options assembled and ready to go before you ever get to a job site. Think of how many times you’ve been on a job and needed a different size or different type of blade. That won’t happen if you pre-assemble these chucks.

Strength

Strength is the main benefit of the larger chucks. The  M60 and MC60 carry more weight and break through tougher clogs that smaller blades can’t handle. Three of our four models also come with pins, which stop blades from rotating in the chuck when they encounter an obstruction. This prevents the blades from breaking.

7722 Chuck Assembly

Our 7722 chuck assembly is for  round-bottom blades only. With the 7722, your blade is cradled into the chuck. The 7722 also keeps the blades from breaking and gives the blades more load capacity, which helps break through those extra-tough obstructions.
